TRC20 and ERC20 follow a similar design philosophy — both define a standard interface for fungible tokens on smart contract blockchains, both use comparable function names (transfer, approve, transferFrom), and both are designed for interoperability within their respective ecosystems. However, they run on entirely separate blockchains and are not interchangeable. A TRC20 address on TRON cannot receive ERC20 tokens sent from Ethereum without cross-chain bridging.
